Dave is a full member of the Institute of Profesional Sound.
The Institute of Professional Sound, formerly known as the Institute of
Broadcast Sound, aims to meet the need for better interchange of ideas
and techniques between practitioners in all areas of professional sound;
theatre, live music and events not just the broadcast area.
The IPS operates a very effective collection of forums. These are an
invaluable souce information and assistance for members in almost real
time.
Also run by the IPS is the IPS
Knowledge Base. This is a publicly accessible resource
covering all aspects of professional sound. Starting from basic electronics,
to the principles of acoustics, along with "How to ..." and
"Gotcha's".
Dave voluntarily contributes content to the Knowledge Base and tries to keep page
style consistent. He also assists in the administration of the forums.
LineUp the former
magazine of the Institute has also benefited from Dave's writing skills
in the form of a short article published in the June-July 2007 issue
